Happy Summer!!!

Family Photos

I love old family photos.
I found this hanging on my uncles
wall in Lithuania in his dining room.
It's a photo of my great, great grandparents and
their children and grandchildren on my mothers side.
My grandmother is the little girl in the second row dressed in black.
The photo was taken around 1910 in Kaunas, Lithuania.

Church of Sts. Michael & Constantine

The church was built in 1913 near the end of the tsarist rule as a part of the 300th anniversary of the
Romanov Dynasty. The church is famous for it's beautiful emerald green domes.
Inside the church it's very modest for being Russian Orthodox but is still beautiful.

Orthodox Church of the Holy Spirit

This is one of my favorite churches to visit. Truly the most beautiful in all Vilnius.
The church was originally built in the  mid 16th Century
and is bursting with frescos, icons and the
most magnificent cupola painted with blues and greens.
A must see when in Vilnius.

Trakai is a beautiful historic city and lake resort in Lithuania.
A popular tourist destination and not to be missed.

Antique Shopping in Vilnius

I was in heaven shopping for all kinds of antiques on Dominikonu Street in Vilnius.
My favorite items were the Russian tea glass holder's and Samovor's.
Just a tip....If the item your considering to purchase is over 50
years old you might have trouble taking it out of the country.
Make sure you ask the antique dealers to assist you.
If they can't you might like to rethink your purchase.
